➤ What is LINE Developers and Providers?
- LINE Developers:
LINE Developers is a technical console for managing LINE OA, which allows companies to set up various development resources related to LINE OA, such as settings for auto-push messages or authentication information required for new friends. LINE Developers is different from LINE OA platform (Official Account Manager), LINE OA platform is where companies can manage communication with friends directly - Provider:
Provider refers to an individual person or company that provides the service, such as their personal name or their company name. All providers are subject to LINE's terms of use and policies, so one provider should represent one company only (one taxID number) - In the LINE Developers platform, a Provider cannot have multiple LINE OA that belongs to multiple companies (which belongs to different taxID number)
- In MAAC system, each friend has their own unique LINE User ID (UID). LINE UID are the same if under the same provider, brands can integrate those UID internally. On the contrary, LINE UID are different if under different provider, and the data cannot be used for internal integration.
- For example: If conglomerate A has 3 subsidiaries B, C, and D, which operate three restaurant brands X, Y, and Z. If conglomerate A wants to operate several LINE OA, conglomerate A can create many providers (Provider B, Provider C, and Provider D) each provider manages their own restaurant brands (Provider B manages brand X's LINE OA ; Provider C manages brand Y's LINE OA ; Provider D manages brand Z's LINE OA ). Gift Chumsong, a female friend, has different LINE UIDs in each LINE OA X, Y, and Z.
🚨 Attention:
- Please make sure whether if you had set up a LINE Developers before. If your LINE OA has previously used a 3rd party API vendors' services, or if you have set up LINE login on your official website before, or if your company's other brand (LINE OA) have used the LINE API vendor services before, it means that your LINE Developers has been set up.
- If your LINE Developers already been set up, please refer to the "Setting steps" below to share the "Admin" roles to Crescendo Lab.
- If other brands under the same company already set up LINE Developers, but did not provide provider's admin role to Crescendo Lab, and given Crescendo Lab permission to create a new provider, the LINE UID that belongs to different provider will not able be integrated. (the action of creating new provider is irreversible)
