▶︎ What is LINE Official Notification Message (PNP)?
LINE Official Notification Message (PNP) allows brands to send important information directly to their members, such as membership benefits or order notifications. Brands only need the member’s phone number to send notifications via the Notification Message API. If the phone number matches LINE’s database, the notification will be delivered even if the user has not added the brand as a friend. This ensures that important information is not missed, enhancing the member experience and improving brand communication efficiency.

Brands can send notifications to contacts through three channels: LINE Push, LINE Notification Messages, and SMS. Below is an overview of the differences between the three:
- LINE Push
- Target Audience: Contacts who have added the brand’s LINE Official Account (OA).

Sending Conditions:
- The contact must be a LINE OA friend of the brand.
- The contact must not have blocked the brand’s account.
- Phone number and LINE ID must be linked.

Features:
- Enables precise message delivery to brand contacts.
- Can be used with the MAAC message module to enhance message relevance and interaction rates.
- Increases engagement and interaction with brand contacts.
- LINE Notification Message (PNP)
- Target Audience: Contacts who have not added the brand’s LINE OA but have enabled LINE Notification Messages.

- The contact has not added the brand’s OA but has agreed to receive notification messages.
- The contact is a LINE OA friend but has not completed phone and LINE ID linking.

- Reaches users who are not brand friends, expanding potential audiences.
- Suitable for scenarios such as membership registration and order or delivery notifications. Content must comply with LINE’s official guidelines.
- Users can choose to add the brand’s LINE OA through the message, further strengthening brand connections.
- SMS
- Target Audience: Contacts who cannot be reached through LINE Push or Notification Messages.

- The contact has not added the brand’s LINE OA.
- The contact has blocked the brand’s account or has not enabled notification messages.

- Directly sent to the contact’s phone number, independent of the LINE platform.
- Can include a bind_link to guide the contact to add the brand’s LINE OA and complete the binding process.
- Higher reach rate but lower interactivity compared to LINE channels.

After receiving a LINE Notification Message from a brand, the contact must click the link and add the LINE OA as a friend to complete the binding between LINE UID and phone number.
⚠️ Please note that brands using the MAAC x E-commerce membership card module require OTP verification for member binding. Contacts must manually complete the binding after adding the brand’s LINE OA. Brands can guide contacts to complete the binding process through the following methods:
- Welcome Message for New Friends(e.g. , Welcome {user_name} to {brand_name}! Bind your membership and receive 100 LINE points as a gift! Click the button to complete the binding! )

Rich Menu – Place a link to the membership card in the menu.
- Users who click the membership card link without binding will be directed to the binding page.
- After activation, the membership card link can be obtained from the membership settings page.
