This article explains how MAAC admins can add, deactivate, and re-invite users through Permission Management. Invitees can also refer to this article to complete their account activation.
1. Add Users
Admin Steps

-
Go to MAAC > profile icon on the top right > Permission Management
-
Click Add User
-
Enter the invitee's email
⚠️ The invitee's email must be a valid email that can receive messages.
-
After the invitation is sent, the invitee's status will show as "Disabled" until they accept the invitation.
Invitee Steps
-
Go to your email inbox and check for an invitation email from Crescendo Lab
*If the email is not in your inbox, please check your spam folder.*
-
Click the link in the invitation email, accept the invitation, and set a password to complete registration

After completing registration, you can log in to MAAC.

Resend Invitation Email
If the invitee has not yet activated their account, the admin can click the "Resend" button on the Permission Management page to send the invitation email again.
- If the original invitation is still within the valid period, the old invitation link remains usable.
- Both the old and new invitation links can be used to activate the account as long as they have not expired.
2. Deactivate Users
When a user leaves the team or no longer needs access to MAAC, a MAAC admin can deactivate that user directly from the Permission Management page. Once deactivated, the user is immediately signed out and loses all permissions, but remains in the user list so admins can review history or re-invite them later.
How to Deactivate a User
- Go to MAAC > profile icon on the top right > Permission Management
- Locate the user you want to deactivate, then click the "⋯" more menu at the end of the row
-
Select "Deactivate user"
On the Permission Management page, click the "⋯" more menu at the end of a user row to see the "Deactivate user" option. - In the confirmation dialog, click "Deactivate user" to confirm. The user's status changes from Enabled to Disabled.
What happens after deactivation?
- The user is immediately signed out of MAAC and cannot sign in again; their existing session and permissions are revoked right away.
- The user remains in the Permission Management list with status Disabled, so admins can review history or re-invite them later.
- Content the user previously created in MAAC (such as journeys, messages, tags) is not deleted.
- If you need to restore the user's access later, see the Re-invite Deactivated Users section below.
When deactivation is not allowed
To prevent the organization from losing all admin access, the "Deactivate user" action will be hidden or blocked in the following cases:
- You are not a MAAC admin: only MAAC admins can deactivate other members; non-admins will not see this option.
- The target is yourself: to avoid an admin accidentally locking themselves out, the "Deactivate user" option is hidden on your own row.
- Deactivating would leave no active MAAC admin: if the target is the last active MAAC admin in the organization, the system blocks the action and shows an error. Invite or assign another admin first.
- The target is a Crescendo Lab staff member: staff accounts are managed by Crescendo Lab and cannot be deactivated by brand admins.
Re-invite Deactivated Users
To restore access for a deactivated user, go to the Permission Management page and click the "Re-invite" icon button (paper-plane icon) at the end of that user's row. MAAC will resend the invitation email; once the user completes registration, they can sign in again.
