Product Overview
The Web Widget (formerly the "Smart Redirect Tool") is a self-configurable web widget that helps brands redirect anonymous visitors to their LINE Official Account and complete identity integration. Through this tool, brands can effectively convert website traffic into identifiable and interactive LINE contacts, achieving data unification between their official website and social media channels.
When visitors click on the Web Widget and complete identity binding, the system automatically integrates their LINE ID with website visit records (User Unification), further establishing a complete Full-context Profile. This enables brands to:
- Precisely execute remarketing campaigns and audience segmentation with tags
- Connect customer service journeys to improve service efficiency
- Enhance cross-channel personalized interactions and conversion performance
The Web Widget serves as a key bridge connecting "website traffic" and "social media management," helping brands transform "anonymous visitors" into "familiar contacts" while comprehensively improving interaction depth and operational efficiency.
Setup Instructions
Step 1: Prerequisites - SDK Installation
- Click Install in the Web Widget section > The system will guide you to the SDK installation page
- Brands must first enable SDK settings in the Admin Center and obtain the SDK code: SDK installation instructions
-
Please note that under SDK > Connected Web channel > Tools, the "Web Widget" module must be enabled
-
Step 2: Creating a Web Widget
You can create a Web Widget and complete identity integration settings through the [Web Widget] page in the MAAC backend. Below is the setup process:
- Basic Settings
-
Select the Goal
First choose this tool's purpose based on your marketing objective. The Goal determines the content of the following steps:
- Brand awareness: image-only exposure using a single image; clicking does not redirect.
- Acquisition and redirect: guides visitors to a destination; the redirect target can be Deeplink to LINE or Redirect to URL.
- Profile Unification: binds website visitors to LINE contacts (the flow described in this article).
- Lead Capture: collects visitor emails with a form and Double Opt-in verification. For this Goal's form, verification email, and Thank-You Page settings, see Feature Overview|Web Widget - Lead Capture.
- Set the Web Widget name: Enter an internal management name for this tool for easy identification and tracking.
-
Website displaying the widget: If you have installed multiple websites in the Web SDK, please select the website source corresponding to your LINE Official Account to ensure smooth identity integration.
-
Page displaying the widget: Configure display pages or URLs according to brand needs
- URL Path Explanation: The path URL is the URL after the domain.
Example: https://example.com/store/product/
Path URL is: /store/product/.
For the homepage, the path URL is "/"
- URL Path Explanation: The path URL is the URL after the domain.
- Display Timing Brands can configure the widget display timing as needed. Three options are available:
- Show immediately
The widget appears as soon as the visitor enters the page.
- Show after staying on page for N seconds
The widget appears only after the visitor has stayed for the set number of seconds.
- Show when visitor is about to leave (Exit Intent)
The widget appears the moment the system detects the visitor is about to leave the page, capturing the last opportunity to guide them to your LINE Official Account.
-
📌 How "Show when visitor is about to leave" works
Desktop: triggers when the visitor moves the mouse toward the top of the page (e.g., about to close or switch tabs, or click the address bar) or toward the left edge.
Mobile: triggers when a clear, rapid upward scroll is detected after the visitor has already browsed for a while; a pull-to-refresh at the top of the page will not trigger it. -
Display Frequency Brands can configure widget display frequency according to their needs
- Widget Style
-
Choose the display style
Choose how the tool appears on the page:
- Slide-in: slides in from the bottom-right corner; less intrusive and suitable for continuous exposure.
- Popup (centered): pops up in the center of the screen for stronger exposure.
Desktop and mobile can upload their own image material and set visibility separately.
-
Choose Desktop or Mobile Display
- Use on/off switches to customize which device widgets to enable
-

Identity Integration Link Explanation
When users click the redirect widget, they will be redirected to the brand's LINE Official Account and automatically send a verification message (integration code).
After completing the message sending, the system will integrate their website identity with their LINE identity.
After successful identity integration, when users revisit the website within 30 days, their website footprints can still be continuously tracked, further strengthening the foundation for remarketing and interaction analysis.
Goal-based setup: Brand awareness and Acquisition and redirect
When the Goal is Brand awareness or Acquisition and redirect, the tool is presented as an image. The key settings are:
- Upload image material: in Widget Style, upload a single image; desktop and mobile can be uploaded separately to fit different placements.
- Display style: choose Slide-in or Popup (centered).
- Brand awareness: image-only exposure; clicking does not redirect. Best for campaigns and announcements; no redirect target or message is needed.
-
Acquisition and redirect: set a redirect target:
- Deeplink to LINE: clicking goes to your brand's LINE Official Account.
- Redirect to URL: enter an https URL (for example, a campaign page); clicking goes to that URL. The Web Widget records impressions, clicks, and click-through rate; downstream performance after the jump must be tracked by the destination site.
Neither Brand awareness nor Acquisition and redirect sends emails, so there is no need to set up an Email channel or sender before publishing; that prerequisite applies only to Lead Capture.
